Black Bear won two international gold medals and was Vineyard & Winery Management’ 2011 International Eastern Wine Competition’s highest ranking ruby port in the United states and Canada. The International Eastern Wine Competition (IEWC) is one of the oldest and largest professional wine competitions in the United States.

In 2010, Connecticut Valley Winery topped its 2009 win of 10 medals by being awarded a total of 17 medals in the 2010 Big E Northeast Gold Wine competition. Our Orange Vidal proudly took a Double-Gold. In May, award-winning Black Bear also received the distinction of being chosen as one of the featured wines at the ESE Foundation’s annual fundraising event, "A Vintner’s Harvest."

Vineyard & Winery Management’s Grand Harvest Awards in California recognized Connecticut Valley Winery again with medals in their 2010 competition. Orange Vidal, Black Bear and Chianti joined previous award winners Raspberry Delight, Black Tie Cabernet Franc, Dolce Vita and Valley White.

Black Tie Cabernet, Chianti, and Orange Vidal also were awarded medals in the 2009 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition.
